The Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) Diagnostics group is looking for a Software Project Coordinator / Scrum Master to help the software team build the next generation of veterinarian diagnostics analyzer instruments and ecosystem for companion and livestock animals around the world. The VMRD Diagnostics software team is responsible for the development of analyzer instrument firmware and software supporting the latest technology and practices. This includes a cloud connected architecture which will support an entire portfolio of products used by customers around the world in an expanding and dynamic market. The Software Project Coordinator / Scrum Master will serve as a key member of the team and must be motivated, self-driven and carry out the following responsibilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage end-to-end software change requests realization (incl. estimation, planning and delivery)
  • Plan and manage software deliveries with development teams on time and in scope
  • Prepare and maintain project JIRA dashboards related to feature development and/or bugfix, burndown charts etc.
  • Facilitate and assist in the definition of software task scope, including the creation of User Stories with Acceptance Criteria, Product Backlogs, Defect Backlogs, Release Plans, Backlog Prioritization, as well as identifying key dependencies and risks.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the team in iterative product software development, including following the Scrum Framework, communicating effectively, managing conflict amongst team members, identifying and removing impediments, and applying self-organization and shared leadership with the team.
  • Support project manager in planning and tracking software tasks and activities as required
  • Work with project manager in creating software project plans with deliverables
  • Identify software related risks for projects and work on mitigation plan with project manager
  • Create and maintain progress reports and productivity metrics to communicate with management and stakeholders
  • Assist with transfer to production from development team

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle. Experience with embedded software development project management
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc
  • Strong communication skills, executive presentation skills, and ability to communicate with all levels
  • Persuasive, collaborative business acumen with the ability to drive the business partners strategically and influence others
  • Demonstrated experience with change management across multiple teams, products, environments
  • Product development experience from concept to product release of embedded medical devices is a huge plus.
  • Proficient with all phases of the software development lifecycle: Design, Development, Testing and Deployment
  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I), PMP, or any any project management training a big plus
