Description: Our client is currently seeking a Solution Architect - Device Management
Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: Austin, TX
Contract: 12+ months
•Architect security device management solutions for customers based on each customer's requirement.
•Participate in Customer meetings to collect requirements and reach approval of security solution.
•Oversee team of engineers, contractors and vendors to manage security device configurations and ensure the proper operation of same.
•Coordinate activities of the team and vendors that perform upgrades and other scheduled maintenance of security devices under contract.
•Monitor network and security device performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
•Participate in managing all customer security solutions.
•Provide input into the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
•Provide advice to the customer regarding near- and long-term capacity needs.
•Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
•Conduct research on security products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the industry.
•Determine new security equipment, hardware, and software upgrades based on customer needs.
•Practice asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
•Monitor and test device performance and provide performance reports.
•Document all Solutioning and Deployment activities in an IT Service Management system.
Qualifying Experience and Attributes
•Knowledge of network and security design
•Knowledge of various network and security devices (routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Endpoint, etc.)
•Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
•Proven experience and success with security design and implementation.
•Demonstrated experience using the offered technologies preferred
•Proven experience with capacity planning, security principles, and general management best practices.
•Excellent troubleshooting experience.
•Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
•Able to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
•Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
•Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
•Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•Strong customer service orientation.
•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
