We have a tremendous opportunity for a Corporate Actions Solutions Engineer.

The Corporate Actions team is a unit within Computershare Issuer Services that provides corporate actions services for issuer and non-issuer clients and their shareholders. The Corporate Actions Solution Engineer operates within the Corporate Actions team at a regional level and collaborates with teams in various Computershare departments and external stakeholders to lead and/or support project-related activities to deliver contracted services. The role is responsible for delivering services within contractual and regulatory standards, and within agreed-upon timeframe and quality standards. Transactions managed under Corporate Actions services are typically highly visible and financially material for both clients and their shareholders. The work performed under this role therefore carries significant financial and reputational risk.

A role you will love

The Corporate Actions Solution Engineer is responsible for scoping, planning, and executing Corporate Action transactions. The Corporate Actions Solution Engineer will work closely with Corporate Actions Solution Architects and relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project tasks are accounted for and actioned to meet service delivery deadlines and service levels. The role holder will also lead/support relevant reconciliation activities and client reporting.

As an operational lead contact for Corporate Actions events, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assess transaction scope by reviewing offering materials, merger documents, and SEC filings and client requirements
  • Define features, phases, timelines, and solution requirements for technical implementation
  • Coordinate project activities across internal operations units and external partners to implement technical solution and manage technical implementation of specific solutions that fit transaction requirements and environment best.
  • Set up system parameters to perform calculations for the posting of shares and/or cash entitlements and to facilitate tax reporting of entitlement issued.
  • Reconcile entitlement calculation prior to allocation.
  • Act as the primary liaison with DTC regarding corporate actions event announcements, processing, and payments
  • Prepare and distribute processing notes of the corporate action events utilizing COSMOS company.
  • Prepare and distribute activity reporting (ad hoc, weekly, monthly).
  • Formulate, interpret, and implement management policies and operational procedures. Update procedures necessary to accommodate service needs and/or to meet risk profile.

What will you bring to the role?

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and more than four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant corporate actions and/or transfer agent experience is required.
  • Five or more years of Corporate Actions and/or transfer agent experience (highly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of transfer agency operations and core servicing model of Issuer Services, including how corporate actions services fit within the Issuer Services framework. A good understanding of how the wider team works together to successful achieve the team and wider department's goals and objectives.
  • Good understanding of corporate actions services and transaction-types to support project related activities and continuous improvement.
  • Good Understanding of work routines and procedures used to provide corporate actions services.
  • Strong and demonstrated mathematical and MS Excel skills (SCRIP knowledge is a plus).
  • Developed communication skills to be able to provide clear verbal and/or written communications in response to client queries, to guide and coordinate task completion across internal and external stakeholders. (Will require tact and diplomacy when dealing with challenging clients, complaints, or sensitive issues).
  • Proven success with responsibility for client satisfaction, retention and profitability
  • Availability during non-business hours depending on project needs.
