SOS is the State of Nebraska's temporary staffing service. We fill a variety of needs for State agencies, boards and commissions and utilize our candidate pool to find the best match based on the qualifications of each job assignment. SOS provides the ability to get your "foot in the door" and gain hands on experience with the State of Nebraska. We do not offer temp-to-hire positions; however, many temporary teammates have found permanent employment with the State after working a temporary assignment.

SOS continually recruits to fill a variety of temporary needs in Lincoln, NE. Most openings are office, administrative and clerical; however, on occasion, we have some vocational and professional openings. Pay is determined by the classification of the position based on the State's classification and pay plan. On average, SOS assignments pay between $11 and $15 per hour and vary in duration. Temporary assignments lasting at least six months and working a minimum of 20-hours per week are eligible for a limited selection of benefits, including: health, dental, dependent care FSA and disability plans. Temporary employees are only paid for hours worked and not eligible for paid holidays, sick or vacation leave.

To become eligible for temporary work, applicants must submit an application online, complete an informational interview as well as background and reference checks. After the background and reference checks are completed the applicant is moved into our candidate pool and is eligible for temporary work.
