Position Overview:

The Novelis Corporate Finance team is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Financial Risk Management. The person in this role will report to the Senior Manager, North America Metal Risk). The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the North American risk hedge program: geared towards including data gathering and entry to inform on metal and strategic hedge decisions. This position will also provide analysis to support Novelis' financial risk management operations and to identify opportunities for improvement and value creation.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and analyze exposure data from Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams for reasonableness and accuracy
  • Enter pricing information into risk systems
  • Respond to procurement and sales as pricing questions arise
  • With Risk Manager, apply judgment to decide if and how to hedge daily exposures
  • Send market information to various company stakeholders
  • Input daily market data into pricing systems
  • Read market updates from 3rd party sources using judgment to determine significance to the company
  • With risk manager, evaluate month end post-hedge results, identify root causes for variances
  • Monitor commercial contracts for risk management issues and provide ongoing training to Commercial teams
  • Track strategic exposures and corresponding hedges
  • Perform month end on-going reconciliations and roll forwards

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in treasury, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Understanding of fundamental macroeconomic principles and workings of financial markets
  • Analytical skills with the ability to prepare and present insightful data visualizations
  • Ability to take initiative and operate with a moderate level of direct supervision
  • Process improvement mindset with the ability to recommend and implement changes to operational practices
  • Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Strong business acumen, particularly as it pertains to risk management and trading practices
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and desire to continuously learn
