Sr. Communications Specialist
This is a HYBRID REMOTE position.

Provides communications subject matter expertise to the MAA and MA Program Office.

In this role you will....

  • Participate in the pre-assessment coordination, MAA onsite, report development and Mission Assurance protection program related request for information.
  • Must have familiarity with Mission Assurance/communications applicable policy, standards, and benchmarks.
  • applicable security clearance requirement.
  • Provide technical support to the information technology program.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of ITI and Mission Relevant Terrain in Cyber Space (MRT-C)
  • Provide MA program communications technical support focusing systematic documentation and review of the network infrastructure necessary to support both wired and wireless networks. This includes determining the condition of current network wiring; network pathways; and networking equipment such as routers, switches, applications, systems, facilities, antennas and towers.
  • Conduct and document interviews with communication and data stakeholders, equipment owners and managers.
  • Perform and document risk analyses on ITI, data and IS issues and provide recommendations for risk reduction.
  • Draft briefs for internal and external use on ITI, data and IS topics.
  • Map and analyze commercial communication networks supporting the installations' wired and wireless communications and data paths to identify risks to missions.
  • Assess installation communication distribution networks and dependencies to identify single points of failure.
Experience Requirements:
  • Five (5) years or more of DoD experience in the communications field performing mission planning.
  • Five (5) years or more desired experience in headquarters MA program reviews and installation level MA assessments.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and pertinent federal policy, Marine Corps or Navy operations background, CISSP certification (or other DoD 8570 IAM Level 3 certification).
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, Information Technology, Technical.
Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Active SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

Other Requirements:
  • Required travel minimum 50% of the time
  • May be required to move equipment/files weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
  • Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
This position is contingent on funding.
