PayPal is committed to delivering the best experience for our global developers.Our team designs experiences, testing and tooling capabilities critical for our developers to build and go-live with PayPal's product suite. PayPal has a network of 3+M developers globally that visit our portal annually. Additionally, we have >30M small businesses many of whom rely on developers to adopt tools to simplify their lives. We're looking for a Senior Developer Business Lead to spearhead the scaling of our external Developer Experiences and build the developer ecosystem. Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering to launch products to scale and power the developer portal experience
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships between PayPal and its commerce and technology partners in cloud services, infrastructure providers, integration platforms, and API/SDK ecosystems to enhance PayPal's Developer Experiences and Technology portfolio.
  • Engage with product teams to ensure high quality of APIs and scalable SDKs
  • Responsible for acquisition, engagement, recognition programs for developer community

  • Manage developer community hub where developers can learn about our products and engage with each other
  • Develop pricing / engagement strategy with GTM team (fee waivers / rev share programs)
  • Oversee and address feedback on developer communities (GitHub / Stack Overflow /Discord)
  • Co-develop GTM that includes events / partner program
  • Responsible for feedback loop from developers on requirements from GenAI and other new next gen capabilities required to address the needs of the customer
  • You will be responsible for fostering partnerships with technology leaders across various domains - including cloud infrastructure, ecommerce platforms, small business platforms, creator platforms, integrations, and API/SDK.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a robust background in working closely with developers, comprehending technical audiences, understanding their community dynamics, tools, and communication styles. This role demands a leader who has successfully driven similar initiatives in previous organizations and possesses a track record of scaling operations effectively.
  • Develop and execute strategies to engage and support developers, understanding their technical requirements, preferences, and challenges.
  • Drive the expansion of PayPal's technical outreach by leveraging partnerships and creating compelling developer-oriented initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and industry innovations to identify growth opportunities and stay ahead in the developer technology landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven 12+ years in a similar leadership role within a technology-driven organization, demonstrating the ability to scale developer-focused initiatives.
  • Strong track record in building and nurturing partnerships with technology leaders in developer technologies, including cutting-edge work in areas like AI, APIs/SDKs, Crypto, and global Developer operations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience navigating and successfully operating in a highly matrixed organization
  • Global experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling organizations and initiatives, driving exponential growth, and delivering tangible results in a fast-paced environment.
