Position Summary

The Sr. Director, Program Portfolio Lifecycle Management will manage a robust team structure, supporting global business strategy development and drive tactical execution of the BU's programs throughout their life cycle (discovery/acquisition - development and commercialization - service and end of life).

This leadership-level role works to continuously provide cross-functional coordination and communication through the execution of product roadmaps. The role will work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Demand Planning, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, Marketing and Sales teams in aligning, implementing, and achieving approved strategies and goals for optimizing portfolio execution of the Vascular BU. It is required to help inform strategic planning, improve project timeline excellence, and drive the tactical execution across functions and geographies.

Principal Responsibilities

• Play a leadership role in pipeline portfolio management by driving program process and execution excellence across the entire product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Marketing which defines product vision, roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and rationalization timelines across the business unit product portfolio globally.
• Ensure lifecycle teams produce timely development plans, commercial assessment insights, strategic options, and recommendations to the Executive Team regarding products and their market potential to enable cross-portfolio decision making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional resources to lead execution of cohesive tactical plans aligned around individual global lifecycle strategies and including supply and cost reduction plans, as well as regulatory requirements, around the existing portfolios.
• Execute on a "closed-loop lifecycle management" to ensure all functions in the total lifecycle responsibility of an individual product are informed and aligned to execution.
• Oversee all program management activities including planning, resource-readiness, reporting, risk assessment and mitigation, and lessons-learned
• Leads program management governance, conducting regular reviews such that key projects are tracking to defined objectives and KPIs, maintaining stakeholder alignment, and proactively managing risk to quality and schedule performance
• Responsible for maintaining project portfolio funnel (NPD, Line Extensions, Sustaining) initiating new projects aligned to business priorities and long-term strategy.
• Identify and champion best practices in Program Management, including the use of dashboards, templates, tools, and processes to drive efficiency, alignment, and effective planning
• Benchmark project execution against peers and continually develop scorecards and leading indicators of performance to drive continuous improvement.

LeadershipResponsibilities

• Coach, mentor and manage cross-functional teams providing regular feedback to foster leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen while setting high standards that drive alignment, collaboration, accountability, and goal achievement
• Support business development activities to optimize the portfolio.
• Rapidly resolve critical issues that impact delivery.
• Meet with functional and geographical leaders to influence across the organization.
• Inspire and provide vision to leadership teams, including direct and indirect reports.
• Mentor, direct, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 10+ years of multidisciplinary work experience in the medical device, diagnostic, pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industries, of which 5+ years include leading and managing teams.
• 2+ years of full clinical product lifecycle management experience spanning inception to post-launch phases, including product launches.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Prior experience developing, leading, and managing high-performing program management teams responsible for overall execution of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
• Detailed knowledge of lifecycle management processes pertaining to overall clinical and product development.
• Experience with launch planning and management, leading global project teams, and lifecycle planning and management.
• Experience in commercial or global development.
• Deep expertise in building relationships based on trust both internal and external to an organization; established history of building and maintaining senior-level relationships at customer organizations.
• Strong change management skills and a proven track record of effectively driving organizational change and innovation.
• Exceptional strategic orientation and agility.
