Meet the team:

The Senior Security System Facilities Engineer is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, integration, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of access control, closed circuit television (CCTV), infrastructure, automatic door systems, storefront door systems, and security systems (hardware and software). Initiates repairs, tests, and calibrates systems and equipment, and diagnoses equipment problems. May be assigned lead duties and responsibilities. Assists in resolving questions regarding services performed. Oversees routine system maintenance and confirms functionality. Advanced Programming on enterprise level systems. Key disciplines - (installation, programming, testing, and commissioning) on Access control, Intrusion, and CCTV systems with fundamental knowledge in fire alarm, BAS, networking. Able to interpret intermediate to advanced circuit diagrams and understand advanced relay logic wiring in the field.

Where you come in:

  • Performing skilled technical work in the installation, integration, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of access control, closed circuit television (CCTV), infrastructure, automatic door systems, storefront doors, security systems hardware and advanced software, sub-systems, interlock integration, and accessories.
  • Performs a variety of test procedures standard to the trade.
  • Diagnoses various equipment malfunctions and makes necessary corrections.
  • Assists in designing security systems within Dexcom facilities.
  • Ability to work on storefront systems and manual doors, electronic devices, and electromechanical devices to maintain Dexcom's electronic security system.
  • Corrects malfunctions to restore the conformance of equipment to established standards.
  • Assists in stocking service parts.
  • Coordinate with other technicians, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of systems into overall building operations.
  • Repairs access control, CCTV, automatic doors.
  • Performs skilled duties in the operation, maintenance and alteration and repair of physical Security infrastructure systems and accessories.
  • Operates power tools and uses hand tools to install and repair electronic equipment.
  • Operates a vehicle requiring a standard Arizona Driver's License to travel to work sites to accomplish tasks.
  • Performs physical inventories of security systems equipment.
  • Performs a variety of security systems installation, maintenance, modification, and repair work.
  • Tests security systems hardware using special testing equipment.
  • Make emergency repairs.
  • Installs and relocates security systems equipment and other related equipment.
  • Moves electronic equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with the aid of a hand truck for distances of up to 100 feet to transport equipment to and from Dexcom sites.
  • Distinguishes colors to identify color-coded cable, wiring, and electronic components that use standard industry color codes.
  • Cleans security systems equipment and work areas.
  • Resolves a variety of installation problems.
  • Communicates with management, vendors, contractors, and employees to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Directs work activity of temporary employees used during periods of high installation activity.
  • Communicates and documents corrective action necessary to avoid malfunctions, energy excess, shutdown, or damage of any system.
  • Advises supervisor of delays, problems, and work assignment progress.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities with view toward Department goals, in support of academic, research, and institutional goals.
  • Comprehends and makes inferences from blueprints, equipment specifications, schematic drawings, and technical instructions regarding security systems and equipment.
  • Learns job-related material through on-the-job training and in classroom settings.
  • Assists in the maintenance of purchasing, machinery history, and equipment records.
  • May be assigned lead duties responsibilities including training, scheduling, project management and construction management.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance record, punctuality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Participates in training sessions and seminars.
  • Maintains a functional awareness of the typical hazards of the workplace as well as the special hazards that may be encountered at Dexcom, such as biohazards, radiation, chemicals, etc. Follows established procedures for dealing with such potential hazards.
  • Promptly reports accidents on the job, preparing and submitting accident reports.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures and practices on safety and operation instructions. Complies with rules and regulations applicable to building codes.

What makes you successful:
  • Experience configuring and maintaining CCTV and access control applications & infrastructure in Genetec Security Center in an enterprise level system.
  • Experience in many types of automatic door systems (including interlock and man traps) in a commercial setting.
  • Two (2) years of engineering or business education or equivalent journeyman experience or trade school certification and five (5) years of experience in security programming.
  • Deep understanding of distributed low voltage systems including advanced CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and voice data system hardware, operation, and architecture.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of installation experience in commercial manufacturing facilities support.
  • Must have applicable knowledge of the integration process of special systems.
  • Able to read, understand and discuss CAD drawings, blueprints, system, and equipment & electrical diagrams.
  • Can create, redline and/or improve SOPs, work instructions and other documents, and understanding of SOAs.
  • Has substantial knowledge and understanding of infrastructure with respect to special systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions.
  • Knowledge of tests performed for systems operations with ability to determine repair needs and effectively communicate them to supervisor.
  • Ability to understand and apply company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of building codes, rules, and regulations as well as procedures related to the position.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks assigned to job function. Ability to move through limited access spaces and cover distances on foot to widely separated work sites.
  • Knowledge of tests performed for systems operations with ability to determine repair needs and effectively communicate them to supervisor
  • Certifications:
  • Genetec - Required.
  • OSHA 10 - preferred
  • NICET Fire - preferred
  • NICET Video Security Systems Technician or Axis professional - preferred
  • NICET Low Voltage/Audio - preferred
  • BICSI ITS Technician - preferred
  • BOSCH Intrusion G Series Expert - preferred
