The Sr. Manager Biochip Operations is responsible for managing manufacturing operations aspects of the current pilot line for high-precision fabrication of DNA microarrays, and planning/managing transition to volume manufacturing. You will work with site leadership teams cross-functionally to achieve organizational objectives and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Business Unit and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Demand planning with internal R&D workstreams. Align scheduling and supply with Corporate Commodity Business Management and Supplier Chain Management teams.

  • Champion an attitude of continuous improvement of existing processes, and work with R&D leadership to transition prototyping processes to external suppliers.

  • Tracking performance on key performance indicators, generating reports, and collecting and analyzing data as it relates to forecasts, build plans, quality, and inventory management.

  • Where necessary trouble-shoot, problem-solve, improve processes. Develop and maintain appropriate procedures and ensure they are utilized and followed.

  • Liaison and owner for resolution with Corporate Facilities/Maintenance Team on specification, procurement, development, installation, and repair of facilities systems equipment.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • B.S./M.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, or other related fields.

  • Nine (9) or more years of experience in operations management and process development in technology or scientific fields.

  • Hands-on experience with wide range of instrumentation, automation, robotics, prototype equipment.

  • Prior experience with FDA regulations, ISO, and QMS standards.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • DNA microarray fabrication and/or non-contact printing (high-precision dispensing automation).

  • Semiconductor fabrication processes.

  • Management of equipment engineering function.
