Meet the team:

The Senior Manager of R&D Engineering Services will lead a shared service team responsible for various general activities within R&D. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills excelling in a matrix management environment with experience in the management of labs, equipment, testing, prototyping, documentation, and procurement. The ideal candidate will be a highly disciplined and focused leader with experience managing engineering support staff.

  • You manage personnel including hiring, training, and monitoring
  • You will plan and schedule test requests
  • You will implement 6S practices across R&D labs
  • You will ensure a safe working environment for the team and drives proactive safety improvements
  • You will develop appropriate training plans for existing test methods and protocols
  • You will develop and monitor equipment maintenance and calibration procedures and schedules
  • You must be knowledgeable in various lab environments including mechanical, electronical and analytical chemistry.
  • You will be responsible for collecting and providing technical and process feedback on test method development and data analysis to various engineering teams.
  • You will liaison with outside suppliers/consultants to ensure the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
  • You will be responsible for leading transformational initiatives

What makes you successful:
  • You have experience working in a regulated med device industry
  • You are experienced in managing working labs
  • You have experience as a subject matter expert in 6S, Kaizen Methodologies, and Lean Six Sigma principals
  • You have experience leading teams of 15 or more
  • Having leadership experience in R&D and Manufacturing is a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt would be preferred
  • You have experience with MATLAB and JMP preferred

Travel Required:

  • 0-5%

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 13+ years of industry experience.
  • 5-8 years of previous people management experience.

Exempt Salary Details:

  • The annual base salary range for this role is $135,100 to $225,100. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
