Northrop Grumman, Sykesville, MD is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to be responsible for developing new software as well as integrating existing hardware and software components. This person will interface with systems engineering and program management and participate in customer meeting. The work will involve analysis, design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of software and drivers in C/C++. This person will need to identify risks, suggest mitigation, track defects and develop resolutions, and report status. Will also develop and execute unit and build verification test plans, track and report test status. Experience with the Linux and/or VxWorks OS is a plus.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering /Computer Science or other related technical area.
  • At least 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; 7 years of related experience with a Master's degree.
  • Experience with C/C++ and real time processing including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms, memory management required.
  • Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance required.
  • Familiarity with a structured process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking, and build release practices required.
  • Good communication and documentation skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with VxWorks is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum is a plus.
  • Experience with integrating hardware components a plus.
  • Experience with administrating virtual machines a plus.
