Assist in the strategy development, planning, execution, asset development, listening, and measurement of insight driven social content strategies across multiple social platforms and handles. Role is critical to building awareness and following for the Cooperative, its farmer-owned brands and other strategic marketing initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform strategy and insight driven social media planning, including content calendar creation and management across multiple brands and platforms
  • Create and manage platform specific assets and execute content calendars across brands and platforms
  • Partner with creative team to develop platform specific assets across brands and platforms, providing insights and performance details to drive creative development
  • Assist in management and analysis of paid, owned and earned social data across platforms and tools to provide insight driven recommendations, optimizations and decisions
  • Provide oversight of social media listening across channels, including identification and execution of opportunities to engage with influencers and advocates to build loyal following
  • Partner with the consumer marketing team to provide insights and counsel around paid social media campaigns and integrate agency driven strategy into Cooperative social media strategy
  • Partner with member communication teams to develop and foster engaged Young Cooperator and Emerging Leaders social community
  • Cultivate collaborative partnerships across the organization to identify agile opportunities to leverage social media content for the Cooperative and category opportunities
  • Work with communications team to identify human relation stories from across the Cooperative to elevate and amplify the work being done to strengthen communities
  • Collaborate with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to continuously integrate DEI practices into owned and managed social strategies
  • Serve as liaison of marketing team to Area Communicators to capture area stories to integrate into social calendar
  • Maintain and share awareness of emerging social media technologies, trends, tools and industry news that align with DFA's business goals
  • Experiment with emerging social media trends and tactics to keep DFA on the forefront of engaging content
  • Work with team to train and engage DFA employees and members in an effort to grow our social media community of promoters and defenders
  • Champion and support DFA's social media policy and help others across the organization understand requirements; continually provide recommendations or process improvements within the communications and social media teams

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field (practical work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis)
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in marketing or communications that includes managing multiple social media channels, strategic planning, community management or other relevant digital experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Tik Tok and other social media best practices
  • Experience with executing paid social media; with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; with social media tools; and with writing
  • Certification and/or license - N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software
  • Knowledge of social media editorial requirements, AP style and best practices across platforms
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, at different levels across the organization
  • Skilled in collaboration and fostering relationships
  • Skill in written and oral communication skills, including proofing
  • Skill in critical thinking and analysis
  • Able to think strategically and creatively
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Able to balance multiple tasks
  • Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
