Job Responsibilities:

Staff Accountant

The DDS Companies is looking for a detail oriented Staff Accountant to join their Finance team. This person will ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying and entering transactions as well as providing management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts.

This position is required to perform the following functions:

• Work directly with the Accounting Manager to ensure that month end deadlines are being met and information is reported accurately.
  
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information and preparing journal entries as necessary.
  
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of operating cash accounts including Corporate Due To/From and its resulting imputed interest.
  
• Prepare job cost analyses for field reporting and to finalize monthly reporting.
  
• Maintain and balance general ledger accounts on a monthly basis by verifying, allocating & reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  
• Work with accounting staff to ensure monthly accruals, prepaid, depreciation & deferred revenue schedules are prepared accurately.
  
• Analyze processes to explore an increase in efficiencies.
  
• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial audit & sales tax audit.
  
• Research items/create ad-hoc reports for management as requested.
  

Job Qualifications:

Required

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  
• Minimum of 5 years of general Accounting experience
  
• Strong understanding of accounting theory.
  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel.
  
• Highly detailed and organized in work.
  
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  

Preferred

• Prior construction industry experience
  
• Prior Cost Accounting experience
  
• Previous COINS/Sage Timberline experience
