Meet the team:

We are hiring for a hybrid-based Staff Software Development Engineer. In this role, you will be a key contributor to Systems and Solutions Partner Development Team, as well as the larger Dexcom Software and Data Organization. You will work with other Software Engineers to build iOS software for use by key Dexcom partners, as well as DevOps and other technical teams.

Where you come in:

  • Design and build iOS Apps and/or SDKs for medical devices, ensuring adherence to iOS platform guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Develop automated unit and integration tests to maintain software reliability.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
  • Participate in design, code, test case reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
  • Interface with software test teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for Apps/SDKs releases, such as release notes, sample apps and user guides.
  • Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies to improve development efficiency.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, memory use, power consumption and security of the iOS Apps, adhering to regulatory and quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

What makes you successful:
  • You have experience with native iOS app development experience using Swift in combination with both UIKit and SwiftUI.
  • You bring a high degree of diligence in documentation, testing and coding.
  • You have experience working in Agile teams & using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • You have experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo and GitHub Actions.
  • You have experience with version control tools such as Git.
  • You have experience writing automated tests using XCTest and XCUITest
  • Working knowledge of design patterns such as MVC, MVVM, MVP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the medical device industry or healthcare technology is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.

Travel Required:
  • 0-5%

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
