Description

The STARS Improvement Professional 2 develops, implements, and manages oversight of the company's Medicare/Medicaid Stars Program. Generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts to direct all Stars quality improvement programs and initiatives. The STARS Improvement Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The STARS Improvement Professional 2 develops programs designed to increase the plan quality. Partners with leaders regarding implementation planning. Reviews and communicates results of programs. . Integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements. Programs and maintains report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources. May create specifications for reports based on business requests. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Care or a related field (OR equivalent experience)
  • 1 - 3 years experience with SQL or equivalent data querying language / tool
  • Ability to problem solve data discrepancies through research and analysis
  • Minimum 1 year experience with creating data-driven reports / dashboards
  • Prior Medicare/Medicaid experience
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on process and quality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to operate under tight deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with in-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, vlookups, charts, and graphs
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in Power BI or equivalent (Tableau, Qlikview, SSRS, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL or equivalent (Oracle, Hadoop, Splunk, etc.)
  • Experience presenting data to leadership in order to drive data-driven decisions
  • Experience working on a shared resource analytics team, working with multiple business partners and departments
  • Progressive experience in the health solutions industry
  • Prior managed care experience
  • Understanding of metrics, trends and the ability to analyze and identify gaps in care
  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments a plus
  • Understanding of CMS Stars, performance measures, HEDIS knowledge and experience a plus
  • Background working in quality improvements
