ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Works with production scheduling to maintain an adequate work for material flow.
* Ensure all safety and quality procedures are followed and that proper training is conducted.
* Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production outputs.
* Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
* Review work orders to ensure proper production practices are followed such as: proper alloy, billet length, billet temperature, container temperature, extrusion speed, type of quench (air, water), tool needs, die, and finish length.
* Provide instruction for proper stretching of material, saw operators cut material to requested lengths, critical dimensions are checked throughout each customer's order.
* Monitor staff's preparation and accurate completion of production reporting such as proper number of cuts, rack tags, correct quantities, cut to the correct lengths, and correct calculation of scrap.
* Monitor the accurate and timely completion of production reporting for Press Report by Shift, Press Operator Check Sheet, Die Pull Sheet, Log Saw Report, Daily Saw Report, Material Scrap Log, and Scrap Trailer Drop tickets by assigned staff.
* Inspect, test, and measure extruded parts, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to processing standards.
* Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
* Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
* Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
* Investigate accidents, injuries, and prepare reports of findings.
* Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
* Reports any unsafe conditions to management.
* Responsible for cleanliness of own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
* Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or technical or associate degree in manufacturing.
• 3-4 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment in aluminum extrusion.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, and EPICS a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong abilities to train staff in all aspects of the production process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow is intermittent with intermittent checking. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The employee must be able to work in a hot environment. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud. The employee is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes. Gloves are job specific.
