Indiana University's procurement system is centered around supplier data. The accuracy of this data is critical to the success of purchases and payments generated by the system, as well accurate tax reporting.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing supplier record edit requests and initial registration submissions, as well as auditing existing records for various compliance standards.
- Acts as a point of contact for suppliers and IU departments.
General Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision, performs routine and ad hoc administrative tasks in support of the procurement function, administering the transactions associated with obtaining goods and services for the university.
- Serves as an informational resource for department or other departments in identifying appropriate vendors and suppliers.
- Responds to employee inquiries and requests and explains policies and procedures.
- Monitors procurement processes and communicates issues with supervisor to inform decisions.
- Oversees inventory of necessary items and coordinates reorder, inventory receipt, and/or returns as needed.
- Prepares reports to monitor outstanding procurement documents and payments.
- May provide assistance to lower-level Procurement Representatives.
- May take on more advanced, non-routine tasks that may require analysis.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or GED.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required- 4 years in a relevant field.

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work LocationBloomington, Indiana
This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised Salary$18 per hour, plus benefits.
