Position Overview

Novelis is a privately held, global leader in aluminum rolled products. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the company operates production facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. Our RPNA team is seeking a talented Supply Chain Analyst to support Production Control/Scheduling and Logistics within the supply chain department.

Responsibilities Include:

Works closely with Production, Customer Service and Shipping departments to monitor production schedules, check shortages, expedite orders, exchange information and resolve problems in order to support OTIF/SOTIF and minimum lead-times & back-orders.• Compile data for monthly sales and operations planning process. Work with sales, purchasing, and manufacturing groups to ensure highest quality of forecast data• Assist in monthly commercial forecasting process; work with manager to conduct analysis to explain variations in forecast• Provides production status and communicates problems, shortages, and overages to appropriate departments including Customer service and Novelis Inside- Sales.• Analyzes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports for material availability . Set's MOQ's and safety stock levels for raw materials based on analysis completed• Troubleshoots and resolves bottlenecks and constraints to the flow of production. Monitors line/machine capacity and incorporates scheduling measures to level load machine centers• Analyze machine run times on an item specific level to identify opportunities as well as improving forecasting models • Train to backup Production Schedulers to cover times schedulers are out of the office• Work with Production Schedulers in analyzing sales history and assisting with determining lot sizes and safety stock levels based on any known seasonality and/or product trends• Develop inventory strategies, including FG supermarkets, inventory lay-out, and overall material flow• Monitors and dispositions slow moving inventory• Manage surplus inventory, working with sales teams to solicit orders and allocate skids, with a key focus on customer service levels• Allocate and re-labeling inventory within the plant as needed• Track, report, and analyze delivery performance • Using process improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen, document current process flow and identify/implement improvements as needed

  • Coordinate inventory movement between Novelis facilities

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in business, manufacturing, economics or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in a role that requires data analysis.
  • Excellent math, interpersonal, written, verbal communication, planning and organizational skills Experience with Lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing documents, databases and email programs .
  • Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Understanding of Logistics and Canadian Customs (NAFTA).
  • Able to adjust based on changing situations and the varying needs within the organization.
  • Many decisions must be made with little time to analyze the situation to ensure safety and that production deadlines are meet.
  • Analytical thinking is an essential function of this position. The interpretation of MRP and forecasts require in depth thought to properly determine requirements and properly schedule the production lines. Thought must also be given when a problem arises, many problems are much deeper than a surface look reveals. This position requires a considerable amount of perception.
  • Trust is required among all levels of the organization in order to effectively work across organizational/ department boundaries

Preferred qualifications:
  • APIC Certification preferred
  • Experience using Oracle and PRMS systems
