Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with Novelis HSE standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Implements and maintains the safety program in the facility's supply chain department. Maintains a constant vigilance for safe and healthy working conditions of employees. This includes responsibility for maintaining a high standard for housekeeping practices. Make employees aware of job hazards directly and through subordinate supervisor. Ensures proper safety training of employees and compliance with company safety rules and procedures. Leads safety initiatives as it pertains to department needs. Investigates accidents to determine and eliminate the cause. Works closely with site HSE personnel.
  • Develops local supply chain strategy that supports and meets company strategy, company performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Maintains routines to ensure high level performance of core supply chain metrics in terms of cost and service, including delivery and recovery/metal yield.
  • Oversees the coordination of inbound and outbound transportation activities.
  • Develops and monitors systems for accurate inventory control and productivity levels. Owns cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory.
  • Effective selection and management of suppliers to support lean manufacturing processes. Ability to onboard/trial new or secondary supplies
  • Lead the development, monitoring and communication of necessary forecasting, data analysis and Sales and Operations Planning information to corporate supply chain and local operations team
  • Develop, recommend and coordinate procedures for effective planning, scheduling and utilization of materials, equipment and labor to provide on-time products to customers in a cost effective manner.
  • Supervise and develop the plant planning, scheduling, and shipping/receiving functions, including administration of performance assessments for direct reports.
  • Develop and utilize capacity planning tools and procedures. Also, assist Plant Manager & Production Manager on shop floor KPI's and tracking.
  • Participates in continuous improvement teams and initiatives. Set department objectives to include CI projects to move the business forward.
  • Work within the parameters created by the ISO9001:2015 quality system.
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned and required by the Plant Manager/Supply Chain Operations Manager.
    • Location Profile

    Built in 1970 the Clayton facility employs more than 100 people and engages in a re-rolling and finishing operation that supplies foil and light-gauge non-heat treatable aluminum coiled sheet and products including semi-rigid formed container stock HVAC standard and automotive fin stock pharmaceutical closure stock spiral duct stock and distribution. The site is committed to supporting the local community through its ongoing volunteer initiatives promoting safety and education.
