JOB SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Procurement department charged with executing the day-to-day tactical procurement activities in support of two primary manufacturing locations (MN/WI); along with establishing best practice and driving continuous improvement for all processes within this department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Ensure direct and indirect material availability in accordance to the Production Schedule and other resource requirements
  2. Manage raw material inventory and replenishment strategies to meet corporate objectives of working capital and customer service levels
  3. Establish, measure and perform to department goals regarding cost, quality and on time delivery
  4. Establish best practice and drive continuous improvement for department standard processes
  5. Lead and participate in department and cross-functional teams for lean initiatives, problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  6. Direct involvement in management of escalation and resolution to high leverage day-to-day supply chain exceptions
  7. Active involvement in Supplier Relationship Management processes including performance and risk management
  8. Work closely with engineering to manage material changes/re-qualification as needed for continuous improvement and product life cycle management
  9. Maintain effective alignment between tactical site procurement and strategic procurement initiatives/objectives across all commodities (ex: PCAs; plastic; metal; optics; electro-mechanical)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and support to direct team of seven tactical Buyers
  • Provide leadership in the development of direct team members to meet career and business objectives
  • Define, manage to, and track progress towards goals and objectives for direct team members
  • Recruit, hire, and retain high performing team

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain or a technical field is required
  • APICS and/or ISM certification(s) is desired
  • Seven-years relevant Supply Chain experience
  • Five-years Supervisory experience
  • Two-years Tier I-ERP experience (ex: SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards)
  • Experience with SAP is desired
