Job Summary
Responsible for the clerical duties related to scheduling, preparation of documentation and charging of surgical
procedures where applicable. Responsible for efficient coordination and communication related to these tasks. Functions in dependently in multiple roles within the resource.

JOB DUTIES

1. Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner

2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.

3. Maintains accurate surgery schedules and continually monitors them for errors.

4. Coordinates schedule with physician offices to accommodate the surgeons schedule whenever possible.

5. Develops and maintains positive collaborative working relationships with ancillary departments, staff, physicians and office staff.

6. Communicates with other departments regarding future surgical schedules to coordinate patient care.

7. Coordinates surgical schedule with clinical staff to ensure staffing, equipment and supplies are not in conflict.

8. Informs patient care coordinator of any special procedures, supplies or equipment needs requested by the surgeon.

9. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, organization of work and sets priorities.

10. Organizes and coordinates effective use of supplies, equipment and time.

11. Demonstrates professional and positive customer service interpersonal skills.

12. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Education: High School graduate level required.

Licensure: None.

Experience: 2 years experience. Knowledge in medical terminology and computer skills. For SJPN: Three to five years experience in a medical or physician office with experience in scheduling preferred.

Other Job Requirements:

Requires accuracy, organizational skills and ability to establish priorities. Typical responsibilities include facilitating day to-day activities that involve multiple departments, safeguarding confidential patient information, data collection,

contributing to overall results of department through accurate performance of tasks. Often involved institutions that

require on the spot problem solving and creativity. Must be well versed in workings of other departments as decisions

may affect them. Communication is constant and vital to unit operations.

Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or

organizational needs.
