Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Staff Nurse, assists with the care of patients to maintain a safe, clean environment. Responsible for the cleaning of operative suites between cases and transporting patients from the Nursing Units to the OR / Endo Lab and from the PACU and Endo Lab to the Nursing Units. He / She must be available to assist with positioning of patients. Runs errands to the other departments of the hospital and responds to any other tasks as necessary.
Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

  • GED/ High School Equivalent/ High School Graduate

Required Minimum Experience
  • Five years of previous experience as an environmental service tech, OR Tech/OR Support, or patient care tech.

Required Minimum Skills

Good communication skills / good organizational skills.

Must be able to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced work environment. Must have the ability to prioritize appropriately. Must be detail oriented and have the capacity to effectively multitask throughout the work shift.

Must have excellent communication skills and the capacity to interact professionally with a variety of "customers", including but not limited to patients, families, co-workers, volunteers, and physicians throughout the work shift.

Must possess the ability to function independently, yet productively as a cooperative team member with various work teams associated with the position. Must be compliant, with a willingness to follow all Hospital policies as well as the established practices, protocols and procedures of the position, department and applicable professional standards.
