SUMMARY
GameStop is seeking a passionate Systems Engineers to join our Infrastructure team. This role will collaborate with Senior and Advanced engineers, project managers, technology and business partners to support GameStop's hybrid infrastructure across AWS and various physical data centers. The ideal candidate will be customer-obsessed, highly collaborative, and passionate about creating customer experiences that are both frictionless and delightful.
What you'll do
Perform daily management, monitoring and administration of Windows Servers, Linux/Unix systems and various infrastructure technologies.
Provision and deploy physical and virtual systems according to defined best practices in both physical Data Centers and AWS.
Work with other team members in Operations, QA, Network, Development and Database administration to plan the deployment of software releases and continuously improve the infrastructure configuration process.
Partner with the software architecture organization to evaluate and deploy technologies that best meet the needs of the business.
Automate systems monitoring tasks using standard monitoring tools including New Relic.
Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration documents and release notes.
Evaluate and enforce pre-production operational readiness to insure predictable stability in production deployments.
Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

What you'll need:
Associates degree from an accredited program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent technical training in related technologies required.
At least 1 year of experience working with common operating systems such as Windows Server OS or Linux systems in a high volume enterprise environment.
Working knowledge of AWS or AWS concepts.
Must be available to work after hours and weekends occasionally
Must be able to participate in a "on-call" rotation and accept calls after hours and on weekends in order to respond to the needs of a 24x7 support environment
Basic knowledge and ability to implement best practices for managing and monitoring server systems.
Basic knowledge of Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management, DFS, TCP/IP, Clustering, PKI)
Basic knowledge and ability to implement health monitoring of systems and integrate with an enterprise monitoring platform
Demonstrated ability with handling complex and demanding situations
Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
Ability to tackle projects and perform quality work with general supervision
Ability to learn new technologies on the fly and absorb knowledge quickly
Working ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
