Position Summary

MAG is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to provide engineering support for a variety of Army systems in the Wide-band Enterprise Satellite Systems umbrella. The ideal candidate will help integrate various software and hardware components to mirror production environments as close as possible at the Wide-band Integration Control lab at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct systems tests for security, performance, availability.
  • Provide engineering field support, which includes occasional travel (typically 1-3 weeks at a time) to both CONUS/OCONUS locations to conduct production system implementations and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide documentation support which includes the creation/maintenance of installation and troubleshooting procedures for rolling out system releases which can encompass software, hardware, and network setup.
  • Up to 50% remote work. The candidate should be located within two hours of Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA.
  • Percentage of Travel Required: 20-30% for CONUS/ OCONUS
Requirements

The position is contingent upon candidate's ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; thereby, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements with respect to COVID-19, as well as any Government or customer site-specific requirements. Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows including Windows 10, 2016, 2019, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Understanding of IP Networking
  • General Cisco switch knowledge including WAN concepts
  • General virtualization experience including VMWare ESX, Hyper-V (or other virtualization platforms)
  • General experience with MSSQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to reprioritize tasking on short notice and identify & communicate the impact of change
  • Quick learner, creative, resourceful, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must have an active secret clearance.

Education
  • The minimum level of education required is: High School Diploma

Desired Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
  • Familiarity with Cryptographic equipment such as TACLANE
  • Ability to work with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and power meters a plus
  • Familiarity with SATCOM concepts a plus

Other Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have an active secret clearance.
