Overview

i3 is seeking a motivated individual experienced in designing innovative networking solutions to help spearhead the development of a Local and Wide Area Network for a high priority, high visibility project. These efforts will be in support of an initiative to design, upgrade, and enhance long lasting infrastructure solutions with a vast variety of technical challenges and requirements. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities

• Perform within a multi-functional team while maintaining sole responsibility for networking solutions
• Design, architect, plan, install, configure, test, and maintain all network elements to meet contractual project requirements and milestones
• Evaluate capacity, performance, and bandwidth requirements
• Document all architecture, design, configuration, and testing procedures according to customer requirements including but not limited to architectural drawings and enhanced white papers
• Position may include efforts related to wireless networking, mesh networking, satellite communications, radio communications, and data transmission through various messaging formats
• Design, configure, and maintain end-to-end network traffic shaping and prioritization configurations to support latency sensitive application services
• Review, plan and implement proactive support upgrades, patches, and all other network maintenance activities to address any defects or potential security vulnerabilities
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance for all systems engineering and networking projects and tasks
• Evaluate and improve current processes, procedures, and documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in System Engineering, Networking, or related field required.
• US Citizenship.
• Preferred Experience/Certifications:
• Experience with prototype and experimentation environments with regards to developing innovative networking solutions to solve complex problems.
• Experience designing/architecting, configuring, and testing network solutions and providing detailed architectural drawings as well as design and test documentation.
• Experience with tactical networks and radio communication.
• Experience integrating and deploying network microservice applications with ports protocols and security standards.
