Job Description

The Team Lead, Quality Control is responsible for the overview of all data generated in the laboratory and attending to the demanding regulatory compliance requirements needed for the operation of a GMP contract laboratory. You will help Operations Management oversee and maintain the various quality control systems within the company, while also providing a leadership role to the Quality Control Team.

Job Functions

  • Manage the data review system to ensure test requests are performed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensure all testing meets company quality and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the department's out of specification system and prepare trending reports
  • Maintain the department's Guidelines system as applicable
  • Write or participate in impact assessment investigations
  • Discuss technical testing issues with department staff to advance the quality of the testing services
  • Notify department staff of changes to compendial procedures as applicable
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all general SOPs pertaining to the laboratory
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP/ISO requirements as these pertain to work performed in the laboratory
  • Assist Management in the review and approval process for company SOPs
  • Respond to all customer requests for information pertaining to review issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in quality improvement projects designed to improve customer service
  • Assist customers in the interpretation and explanation of compendial and standard procedures
  • Play a lead role in departmental and/or company-wide projects designed to improve customer service


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific discipline (Required)
  • 5+ years in GMP/GLP regulated environment (Required)
  • Thorough knowledge of scientific principles (Required)
  • Must have a solid grasp of GMP/GLP regulations and ISO 9000 Standard (Required)
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific discipline
  • 3+ years in GMP/GLP regulated environment
  • Familiarity with USP/EP/JP testing
  • Supervisory experience preferred
