Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins has a great opportunity for a Traffic Signal Technician in our Traffic Department! This is a Technician ll, Transportation Operations position and is a full time, salaried position with the City with an anticipated hiring range of $55,000-$65,000 annually and opportunities for overtime! The position also includes the City of Fort Collins exceptional benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, Paid Time Off, access to our on-site gyms, and access to our free, onsite clinic to name a few). This position will rotate on call, emergency response and be provided a City vehicle while on call. Our Traffic Signal Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our network of traffic signals, and vital to keep traffic flowing safely within our city. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with three years' experience in electronics, traffic signal construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience. We would prefer a candidate with IMSA Level 1 certification. We are looking for someone with a passion for safety who enjoys a fast-paced environment to bring their skills in maintenance and problem solving to the City!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

• Installs, maintains, and repairs traffic signals, traffic electronic devices and other traffic control equipment.
• Performs routine, preventative maintenance of traffic signal equipment.
• Responds to failures and emergencies involving traffic signal equipment; is available for twenty-four hour on-call duty.
• Documents work done on signals and traffic control devices, makes daily work reports and keeps simple records.
• Operates equipment such as aerial device, backhoe, loader, trencher, concrete saw, utility locator and other specialized equipment.

Required Education

Experience Requirements

• Three (3) years experience in electronics, traffic signal construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
