Temporary Faculty Position in Animated ArtsDept. of Art & Design

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 8,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The university is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Art & Design invites application for a full-time, temporary faculty position in Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025 in intro and advanced 2D Animation and 3D Animation and/or intro and advanced 3D Modeling and Rendering. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service. Required: Master's degree in animation, art, or a related area; strong professional portfolio of personal and student artwork; one-year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent professional experience in the animation field is required; proficiency in related software including Maya, Mudbox, Zbrush, Toon Boom Harmony, Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects etc. Must demonstrate ability to teach 2D animation, 3D animation, and 3D Modeling and Rendering. The candidate may teach introductory and upper level 2D Animation, 3D Animation, and 3D Modeling and Rendering courses. Courses are taught face-to-face. If course format were to change to hybrid or online, faculty will be required to successfully complete the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University.
