Project Overview:

Hardware Reliability Test Engineering ensures new consumer electronic products meet requirements for reliability and performance. This is done by working closely with reliability engineering and design engineering teams to design and execute tests and other methods for performance evaluations.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Solving complex engineering problems by collaborating with reliability engineers to examine failure modes and mechanisms then testing out solutions.
  • Comfortable around standard or custom test equipment, including data acquisition and post-analysis.

  • May act as a test lead for small projects of moderate complexity and impact; in that role may manage test priorities.
  • Manage and implement testing, which may include test spec creation, execute testing, data reporting, risk analysis and fixture design.
  • Evaluate technical data, develop recommendations, and resolve moderate technical issues.
  • Work with other groups on project-wide efforts to improve design and enhance product quality with data-driven decisions.
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of reliability engineering or test experience in the industry.
  • Experience working with various pieces of lab equipment including interfacing and data acquisition.
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications: (Skills that would be nice to have but are not essential in the role)
  • Understanding of the physics behind the mechanical, and electrical properties of consumer products.
  • Experience applying design for reliability (DfR) techniques (DFMEA, Statistics) and other reliability modeling techniques.
  • Statistical analysis experience using JMP, Reliasoft suites etc.
  • Experience with failure analysis techniques for electrical, mechanical, audio/acoustics, display, touch or optical components.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Dynamic and "can do" attitude engineer with the desire to work with a great team and product.
Skill/Experience/Education
