Job Summary:
Designs, develops, installs, and maintains test software applications, scripts, equipment, and tools used both in the production and engineering service areas. Also provides third-tier troubleshooting support and integrates electronic assemblies and subassemblies of complex embedded computer systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Designs and develops software applications, scripts, and automation in support of manufacturing and engineering services.
• Provides input during engineering design and support reviews and prototype builds on functional requirements, product designs and potential issues as it relates to testing and manufacturing.
• Collaborates with design engineering and customer operations to establish new or redesign existing service programs.
• Ensures product meets internal and external quality requirements and customer specifications.
• Creates support and repair procedures and processes, writes troubleshooting guides and develops testing techniques.
• Trains operations personnel on support and manufacturing processes, applications, and firmware functions.
• Compiles and maintains test-related documentation including test plans, procedures, results and reports.
• Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Level Specifications:

• Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
• Good working knowledge of the Linux OS and experience with scripting using Bash and Python.
• Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.
• Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
• Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.
• Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.

Work Experience:

• Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
