Title IX Coordinator - Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion
Classification Title: Administrator II
Position Salary Range: $7,092 - $7,824 per month
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department/Position:
The CSUDH Office of Equity & Inclusion (OEI) supports a campus climate that embraces and uplifts equity, inclusion, and justice. OEI also champions inclusive excellence and equal access to education and employment for students, staff, and faculty. In line with this mission, OEI is dedicated to providing education and support, offering variety of trainings and materials to prevent bias and promote safety and equity at CSUDH. OEI also responds to bias-related concerns and complaints following the processes defined in the CSU Interim Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Exploitation, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking & Retaliation.
Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the Title IX Coordinator is the designated campus official responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the University's Title IX compliance obligations. The Title IX Officer works collaboratively with campus departments and programs to oversee the development, implementation, and coordination of strategic efforts aimed at preventing sexual violence and other forms of sex-based discrimination and assure campus-wide compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include developing and implementing effective and compliant education and training programs; administration of campus complaint procedures for faculty, staff, students, and third parties; conducting and/or overseeing investigations of reported Title IX violations; providing information on programs and services to victims of sexual harassment; and monitoring and assuring ongoing campus compliance with Title IX and other sex discrimination, sexual harassment, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and other sexual violence regulations

Ability to:
- Listen, identify, elicit and distill essential information needed to assess and resolve problems and issues
- guide, advise, and support education and training on Title IX and VAWA for a broad campus audience
- tolerate a high degree of ambiguity
- use appropriate judgment when making decisions and recommendations
- manage multiple priorities and an ongoing and complex caseload of reports and complaints
- work with hostile and emotional individuals in a compassionate, professional, and courteous manner
- communicate and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with a diverse educational, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, racial, and the ethnic university community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree such as JD or Master's degree or higher in a relevant field of study
Three (3) years or more of experience in civil rights compliance program management
Experience facilitating civil rights or equal opportunity programs in a unionized environment
Familiarity in applying restorative practices to resolve conflict
Higher education experience
