SUMMARY

The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MIAMI Toolroom to support the operations of the maintenance department and other duties as may be required. The position reports the Materials Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble and issue tools and materials required by the maintenance department.
  • Keep records of what was issued, and returned.
  • Report Lost or Unreturned Tooling to the Materials Manager.
  • Ensure that all tools issued are safe for use. Maintain control over all broken tools, and report as appropriate.
  • Maintain an inspection and calibration program for all precision measuring devices and other tools requiring calibration.
  • Perform routine maintenance, and required calibration. Maintain records of calibration and maintenance.
  • Required to be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces.
  • Be able to operate a forklift for loading and unloading of material deliveries and warehouse stocking.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle including a company van.
  • Must be able to prepare and package for daily shipments to vendors locally, domestically, and internationally as required.
  • Must have Hazmat Awareness training and knowledge. (Company Provided). Must be familiar and able to recognize hazmat shipping requirements and contact and make the necessary arrangements with hazmat agents for such shipments.

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid unrestricted Florida driver's license. Must be insurable based on driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain an Airport SIDA (Secure Identification Display Area) Badge.
  • Must have Hazmat Awareness training and knowledge. (Company Provided). Must be familiar and able to recognize hazmat shipping requirements and contact and make the necessary arrangements with hazmat agents for such shipments.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Must be able to multitask and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and the ability to write correspondence and emails.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high stressed, high-demand environment.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years experience in aviation tooling inventory management or aviation materials/inventory control function.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

The employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Flexible to work all shifts including split shifts and weekends as assigned by manager.

This position may require traveling.
