GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW

As Machine Learning (ML)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) progress in healthcare a new role for data scientist is evolving that not only includes participating in model development but playing a key role in transitioning the developing model into the clinical workflow (Inference). The role includes assisting with the dynamics of lab curated data as model inputs to adjust to the real-world scenarios that often include dirty model inputs, complex results management and integrations into various clinical systems.

Acting under the supervision of the Director of the EMI, the data scientist will work with affiliated labs on model curation (40%) and with clinical integration teams (60%). The ideal candidate will aggressively lead the translation process by advising and assisting the EMI Technical Project Mangers on issues related to the performance of the model as it is being deployed into clinical production. This also include participating and advising the labs producing the modes on unique clinical workflow issues and advising on model training adjustments to account for the real-time environment.

Additionally, this individual will participate in ideation of model concepts and participate in the generation of new models within affiliated MGB data science labs.
