Position:

Transportation Specialist I, Inbound Transportation

Job Description:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for reviewing / analyzing freight pay reports to identify supplier compliance issues that will drive cost savings
• Work with the supplier to correct their routing by changing carriers, weight breaks, or consolidation strategies through continuous improvement efforts. Monitor and report on improvement.
• Ad hoc analysis / reporting used to identify savings opportunities from the freight payment data, ability to present findings
• Assist Transportation Manager in developing stronger audit controls in supplier compliance
• Assist Sales / Asset teams with locating tracking numbers on inbound shipments, help troubleshoot problem shipments.
• Compile and review on time delivery data, identify problematic lanes or suppliers
• Act as first line support in shared transportation inbox, ability to identify issue and work with internal resources and our carrier base to solve problems.
• Compile monthly inbound shipments statistics and report on trends, help identify problems

What You'll Need:

• Experience working with small parcel, ocean, air freight, LTL shipments and carriers
• Experience working with Freight Forwarders
• Ability to retrieve, manipulate and present data
• Strong project management and multitasking skills with adherence to deadlines
• Ability to work well both independently and in a cross functional team environment
• Strong MS Access, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
• Experience working with a TMS, WMS and other Supply Chain systems a plus
• Experience in import and export rules and regulations

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
