Role Overview:

  • Administrative and clerical activities supporting the PTAC nursing, case management, and bed planning departments along with PTAC leadership
    • Coordinates and supports various meetings including booking conference rooms and taking meeting minutes
    • Keeping teams site and documents up to date and consistent with MGB standards
    • Orders, receives, and unpacks unit supplies
    • Organizes and manages information at the PTAC (updating binders, printing orientation booklets, hanging up information, maintaining standardization of cubicles in the transfer center, tidying up, etc.)
    • Plan staff events
  • Activities to support timely transfer of patients into the MGB system
    • Calling OSH with assignments, and paging clinicians where needed
    • Communicating with lead RN, case management, and bed planning
    • Scheduling appts for patients referred outpatient
    • Run patient reports for huddles, shift change, weekly transfers, etc.
    • Monitor for and upload incoming faxes
    • Monitor for, follow-up on, and upload images
    • Create MRNs and booking encounters
    • Enter insurance encounters and review insurance participation grid
    • Monitors and answers phones on hold in que
    • Updates and maintains phone directory


Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree in healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a medical setting and customer service experience preferred
Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
  • Skilled in Epic EMR
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Computer knowledge in Windows-based environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment
