Overview

The Unit Support Associate - MedSurg is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses - are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Unit Support Associate functions under the direction of the Resource Technologists or Site Manager.
  • Assists clinical staff when performing examinations provides patients transportation, helps maintain exam rooms, assists distributing reports.
  • Providing safe, age appropriate care to the patients in accordance with Policy and Procedures. Maintains good working relationships with managers, staff, physicians and their staff.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet department needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Minimum Education
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Required Minimum Experience
  • Prefer hospital experience
Required Skills
  • Demonstrates good communication skill and handwriting
  • Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude
