Use your culinary skills to serve individuals in the Western Massachusetts community on the road to recovery from addiction!

Join our team of competent and caring professionals as a Cook at Behavioral Health Network in Springfield, MA! As a Cook, you will adhere to kitchen compliance standards set forth by the Department of Public Health, prepare nutritious and healthy meals for clients, maintain a clean and sanitary environment in which to prepare food, and transport food to other sites as needed. Indirectly related to the individuals we serve, Cooks use appropriate means of conveying written client/program information needed by other staff to perform their duties in the best interests of the individuals, complete documentation in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner, and report program-specific safety and maintenance concerns in addition to other duties requested by the supervisor. As a Cook, you will get the opportunity to work independently, learn to manage a food budget, do menu planning, and learn to maintain a kitchen to DPH standards and regulations.

Cooks at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Commitment to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (preferred).
  • Food preparation experience in a program (preferred).
  • In successful recovery for two or more years (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems.
  • Valid Driver's License (required).
