If you are passionate about our company mission, we invite you to apply for the position of Business Account Manager (BAM) for Vet, based out of the Phoenix Hill's/PetSmart Support Office. As a BAM for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will assume headquarter customer management responsibilities for Vet Centers of America (VCA) and BluePearl Veterinary Partners which will include up to 50% overnight travel.

The primarily responsibilities for this role include customizing and implementing Hill's retail environment & brand strategies to grow market share and associate brand recommendation within the customer base. The BAM develops and executes customer specific 6P plans to achieve the Hill's commercial goals of net sales, share, margin, while spending within gross-to-net guidelines. BAMs at this level will be high transparency and have focus on strategic, more sophisticated customers based on higher net sales direct and indirect, stronger marketplace influence, higher customer sophistication, and other customer complexities. Strong leadership is needed to engage customers at the highest level with impactful plans and influence internal key partners.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Develops, executes and supervises the 6P plans versus goal for key Hill's customers at varying levels of revenue and complexity
  • Develops and maintains process/plan to analyze each customer's business
  • Evaluates business trends, consumer insights, and learning's from post analysis of executed activities, which may include high utilization of customer consumption data
  • Leads and executes customer meetings to influence support of Hill's Go-to-Market plans with each customer (minimum (1) per month)
  • Builds and executes annual strategic plans and initiatives to achieve the commercial goals
  • Engages customer on category growth expectations
  • Customizes specific programs with Hill's Marketing, leveraging Hill's brand strategies to drive incremental sales
  • Execute sales plans and resolve issues through both the customer and internal commercial teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance
  • Builds and maintains Colgate Business Planner to reflect baseline sales and promotion plans
  • Manage customer payments
  • Develops category and brand solutions for each customer that will drive the Hill's business
  • Collaborates with Hill's BDM & Retail Marketing team to execute the Hill's retail environment and brand strategy within investment guidelines
  • Drives forward actions in monthly customer planning meetings to review actuals plus plan-to-go with manager, BDM & Finance

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or higher
  • Minimum of 5 years of Field Sales experience calling on veterinary hospitals (or corporate sales experience)
  • Proficient digital literacy in Excel, Word, Power Point or in G Suite (Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs)

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience handling key accounts/headquarter accounts

  • Excellent business presentation ability and a skilled communicator

  • Adept at finding common ground, identifying vital interests, and understanding the customer's underlying priorities
  • Strong analytical skills to develop 6P recommendations that result in optimized consumption based on consumption data, shopper and consumer insights
  • Handles ambiguity and strategize solutions for the customer's business and 6P plan performance and quickly develop alternative plans as needed
  • Works optimally across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, seek problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution.
