Position Summary

Position: Warranty Engineer

Location: Seneca Falls, NY

Education: Bachelor's degree or associate's degree plus 5 years of experience

Experience: prior experience with pumps is required and warranty claims experience is preferred

Summary: The Warranty Engineer supports our customers by driving rapid resolution of warranty claims while exceeding the expectations of the customer. This includes: investigation of pump/system problems, product non-conformance, customer technical specifications, and root causes; negotiating settlements with the customer; working with other functional groups to determine and drive appropriate corrective actions; identifying and communicating opportunities for corrective action.
Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customers' claims to determine warranty coverage. Communicate claim coverage decisions while maintaining customer relationship. Facilitates repair, and or replacement, of nonconforming product
  • Work independently with full responsibility and accountability for decisions made.
  • Review returned materials with Quality Assurance and Engineering. Based on findings, take the necessary action to resolve the warranty claim. Involve other departments as needed to obtain resolution to warranty claims. (including, but not limited to Sales, Marketing, R&D, Commercial Engineering, Assembly, QA and Order Entry.)
  • Initiate corrective action through formal CAR (Corrective Action Request) system.
  • Approve claims of $7,500.
  • Provide technical assistance to the IP Sales Force and customers in trouble-shooting product and system problems.
  • Support resolution of GetPaid issues by providing technical justification to support collection efforts.
  • Support Engineering and Marketing in developing instruction manuals and technical data.
  • Provide root cause Failure-Analysis Reports to customers.
  • Support new product development and existing product maintenance.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • 4 yr. BS Technical Degree or 2 year degree w/minimum 5 years related experience is required
  • Pump experience is required
  • Previous experience in warranty claims process is preferred
