General Description of Position:

Develop, maintain, and enhance existing web-based applications using the latest technologies

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, and implements internal Web-based applications and Web Service interfaces using primarily SOAP, Ruby on Rails, and HTML while connecting to an Oracle database.
• Interacts with other IT application developers to ensure compatibility and integration with other Hargray applications.
• Provides programming support for the Web applications and services including (but not limited to) enhancements, tuning, maintenance, research, and problem correction.
• Performs unit tests of all developed program modifications.
• Provides assistance during System Integrated testing and User Acceptance testing.
• Conducts technology research required for development of application interfaces.
• Performs activities in adherence to the Hargray Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and other defined audit controls.
• Develops and drives improvements for the standards and procedures utilized within the Web-based applications suite.
• Participates in on-going training for requirements necessary for support of mission critical applications.
• Provides task completion status reporting and technical problem reporting to the appropriate management personnel.
• Communicates effectively and clearly with all departments and employees to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of department.
• Collaborates with business partners to ensure clarity for requirements and products delivered meet the business needs.
