What we need:

Mohawk is looking for someone to operate equipment in order to cut, measure and / or wrap rolls of broadloom carpet or vinyl.

What you'll do:

• Prepare rolls for processing (cut tape, load core, pull ticket).
• Process roll into AS400/Alcon system by using hand-held scan gun.
• Operate cut table controls to start roll up process.
• Inspect product for defects, damage, correct width and color/style.
• Utilize wrap station equipment to ensure protection of the product.
• Print ticket and label role for identification purposes.
• Observe operation of the equipment to detect malfunctions.
• Replace worn blades and tape rolls.
• Restock cores.
• Maintain cuts per hour requirements.
• Operate lift truck when needed.
• Assist with minor repairs if needed.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

What you are good at:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• No prior experience required.
• Must have working knowledge of the AS400 or be willing/able to learn.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and pass the Mohawk lift truck certification test.

• Experience as a cut table operator is desirable but not necessary.
• Must be an effective team member.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
• Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.

What else:

• Must be able to stretch, squat, reach, bend and twist.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Vision must be correctible to 20/40.
• Must be able to lift 80 lbs. Several times throughout shift.
• Must be able to work day or night shift.
