Meta is seeking Data Center Engineers to join the Enterprise Engineering (EE) Infrastructure team to help build and maintain Data Center equipment supporting Facebook's incredible growth.

<ul><li>Provide subject-matter expertise regarding Data Center infrastructure, network planning, architecture and standards.</li><li>Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans including Method of Procedure (MOP) and Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Design Packages (EDP), Scope of Works (SOW), Network equipment and server Rack Face Elevations (RFE).</li><li>Provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities in our data centers, Server Labs, and POPs, including in the areas of facility power, cooling, rack layout and cable management, physical equipment installation, network equipment configuration, testing and handoff for production traffic.</li><li>Calculate and document equipment power/space requirements and consumption for Data Centers and multiple PoP sites. Work with Colocation Vendors, local Engineering, Facilities Operations, to meet these requirements.</li><li>Perform fault isolation and trouble resolution on network hardware, software, and circuits.</li><li>Oversee, schedule, and perform appliance maintenance including repairs, upgrades, and migrations.</li><li>Maintain asset database for installed appliances and work with Logistics on vendor RMAs.</li><li>Maintain technical and training documentation, develop automation and tooling as needed.</li><li>Participate in on call activities and follow an escalation process to support the infrastructure 24/7.</li><li>Proactively contribute to scripting, automation, creating and adopting tools, documentation, and process improvements.</li><li>Create in-rack designs, create standards, and understand the overall needs of current and future Data Center, Server Lab, and POP infrastructure.</li><li>10% of travel required, up to 30% based on projects.</li></ul>

<ul><li>6+ years of IP networking experience with designing, deploying, and supporting service provider, data center, and/or enterprise network infrastructure. 3+ years of experience in structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure - their application and limitations within the data center space.</li><li>Knowledge of Linux and troubleshooting server, storage, and network hardware.</li><li>Understanding of network hardware platforms and their specifications in the data center space.</li><li>Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and VRRP in a dual-stack IPv4/6 environment.</li><li>Working knowledge of fiber-optic communications technology including CWDM and DWDM.</li><li>Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms.</li><li>Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices.</li><li>Experience with Linux OS/networking.</li><li>Experience interacting with vendors and external parties to drive projects to completion.</li><li>Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.</li></ul>

<ul><li>1+ years of scripting experience with Python, Perl, or other languages</li><li>Working knowledge of current and emerging optical and ethernet transport technologies</li><li>Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices</li><li>Working knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure and critical facility operational best practices</li><li>Experience working in a multi-vendor device environment</li></ul>
