Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist provides administrative support to the HR Business Partner team on all employment related issues. This position is responsible for responding to HR inquiries, conducting HR data analysis, reporting, maintaining data integrity, and providing other general HR support.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Integrity and Reporting: 45%

  • Inputs and maintains employment data in the HR Information System and assists the HRBP team in the tracking of workflow approvals. Examples include data inputs and changes related to job titles, reporting relationships, compensation, performance reviews, etc.
  • Leverages technology and systems to generate and manage both standard and ad hoc HR reports and rosters and disseminates to others as needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes HR data to identify trends and additional reporting needs.
  • Performs general queries to supply information requested by the HRBPs or for audits, subpoenas, etc.
  • Troubleshoots HR systems, using understanding of system setup, interdependencies, and data flow to resolve issues.
  • Works with technical resources to design, develop, test, and implement HR data solutions. May create and maintain test scripts.
  • Develops functional requirements and systems documentation for the HRIS systems.
  • Functions as HR liaison on HRIS/data related matters. Assists with the coordination of all interfaces to the HRIS system in-bound and outbound.

Employee Relations: 25%

  • Supports New Hire Orientation function and assists HRBPs and managers to ensure successful new hire assimilation.
  • Provides support to the HRBPs with corrective action administration and tracking.
  • Assists HRBPs and managers with off-boarding tasks as needed.
  • Participates in applicable HR projects and assists in the development of business processes and procedures.

General Administrative Support: 20%

  • Maintains personnel files/employment records.
  • Recommends improvements to strategy, processes, and applications use as needed.
  • Provides support to HRBPs on strategic initiatives such as org design, job descriptions, and performance calibration.
  • Completes other projects as assigned as needed.

Compliance: 10%

  • Ensures that all local, state, and federal employer posting-requirements are met and up to date.
  • Conducts timekeeping audits to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and supports any onboarding.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or two (2) or more years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. HR analysis experience preferred. HR certification a plus.
